Jamaican Black Castor Oil
Traditional. Time-tested. Transformed by fire.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil is something special. Unlike regular castor oil, JBCO is made through a traditional process of roasting the castor beans before pressing — a method that has been used in Jamaica for generations. The roasting creates a darker, richer oil with a higher ash content that gives it a distinctly different feel and a deeper level of nourishment.
The roasted bean ash raises the pH of the oil slightly, opening the hair cuticle and allowing deeper penetration into the hair shaft. The result is stronger, thicker, more resilient hair with consistent use. Particularly effective for thick, coarse and natural hair textures that need serious nourishment.
Massage into the scalp to stimulate growth, work through lengths to strengthen and condition, or use as a hot oil treatment for intensive repair. The same properties that make it exceptional for hair make it equally nourishing for skin — deeply penetrating, richly moisturizing and naturally anti-inflammatory.
